Formula Friday.

not that kind of formula, silly. every friday here on MG2C i want to try to come up with an 'equation' to sum up my day.
here's is today's formula:

me + the end of the semester + working in the lab all day - missing the opening of the worlds largest h&m = mixed emotions of happiness, tiredness, and sadness.

weekend fun fest: part 1

friday we went to a friend's daughter's 2nd bday party. it was toy story themed and so cute!

saturday morn, the girls have a rec center class they go to. here they are after it showing off their atwork and just being plain cute. ha.

we went to a car show last night. it was kind of a waste because we drove all the way down there but then the hubby felt too lost in the crowds, tired, and wanted to go home after about 30 mins. i was kind of enjoying myself and the kids were too. these cars were so beautiful. it's almost like walking through an art museum. it's pretty neat. :D except everyone and their mom was smoking and it was pretty nasty. so i was glad to get out of the smoke cloud! here's some pics:

so, the skinny with me:

im about 5 weeks into this fall semester and its going great! the first exams always sting a little, but that's okay. i know what to expect now.

i also got a student position working in my water management (Biol 438) professor's, Dr. Devitt's Urban Water Conservation Lab. i'll be helping grad students do their research for a few different projects. i know one project is testing how the runoff of the salt used to de-ice roads in mt charleston affects the surrounding soils and plant life. another project is testing how effective reuse water is in growing plant made pharmaceuticals. it's so fun and exciting! i worked on monday and it went by so fast! i did some carbonate bicarbonate titrations regarding the reuse water samples. and here is a picture of an experiment i did. using cryogenic vacuum distillation, I collected water fractures from soil samples so that the grad students can test them in the isotope lab.

 it's nice being paid to do something you really enjoy! i've become very interested in becoming a soil scientist too so we'll see what happens. :)

i talked with an advisor so i'm expected to finish up my coursework by next fall! oh, i can't wait and i'm so excited! c/o 2011 :)

the kiddos are all doing great! sabrina is loving the 1st grade and her 1st grade teacher. at first, she missed kindergarten and her kinder teach a whole lot! but 1st grade is growing on her. she is starting to feel like a big kid. :D

jayda missed the kindergarten cutoff date by 2 days so she will be starting kinder next year. :( she was very sad but we do what we can to keep her busy. she is in a kinder prep rec center class on saturdays and i'm looking into getting them into dance again! jayda's 5th birthday is oct 2! her party is on the 10th. she is having a mario themed party at the park. this is our first attempt doing a party at the park as the weather always seems to suck and get really windy. but we're trying it this time. these girls are obsessed with mario so it will be fun decorating for this! they even have princess peach and princess daisy costumes. and im going to dress ryland up as a little baby mario. haha

ryland is 9 months! 3 more months and he'll be devouring his very 1st bday cake! its gone fast but i've enjoyed every little moment with this little guy. he is an amazing little boy!

well it's the weekend! i need to go enjoy myself. :) have a good one everyone!

back 2 school.

well, after this weekend, back to school i go. i have really enjoyed the summer but it's always fun to start a new semester. new classes to explore & i always get that giddy feeling like a little kid. i think i even want to buy a few back 2 school outfits :) my friend sam & i hung out on campus today. it is her 1st semester so i showed her the buildings her classes would be in, the student union, bookstore, student wellness & rec center, etc. & helped her get her student id. it was fun hanging out. i saw where a couple of my classes were too cuz even i get lost ;) we got some caramel fraps after so that was delish. it was fun talking to her because we have a lot in common.

my big girl is starting the 1st grade the following week! im eager to see how she will like the full day since in kinder she only had 1/2 days. she would always seem so tired even after only 2.5 hrs so how is she going to do after 6 hrs? i wonder if she'll prefer hot or cold lunches? just excited for her & hope she has a great year & thoroughly enjoys herself :) she is growing up! she no longer wants a 'character' back pack. she had a my little pony one for kinder. she wants to use my polka dot jansport. no wait, nm i just asked her and she said she wants a princess back pack. lol. chicks = indecisive.

i like that when it is time to go back to school, it is all fall-ish and the leaves start changing colors & falling. & there is that cool, crisp air & smell. nope, not here in vegas. it's still freakin hot as hell. in the 100s. and will continue to be 'summer' for atleast 2 more months. so you can expect to see the chicks in their booty shorts, halters, & heels on campus for a while longer. no worries guys.

i got some of my books today too. makes me wanna cry how much you have to dish out for that. hundreds of $$ kissed goodbye. i saved like $60 on a book buying through amazon though & i signed up for amazon student so i get free 2 day shipping for a year! awesome possum. i got a molecular model kit today too for my organic chem class. the kids and i will have fun making molecules together. :)

well peeps, it's time for me to sleep. it's after midnight. lates.

did ya miss me?

oh em gee. how 2 months can fly by so quickly. and my blog has been so lonelies in the mean time. rest assured, i've kept busy though.

we took a trip to santa monica to play at the beach on may 31st.

we went to salt lake city for 5 days last month and went to lagoon and the zoo.

and in between just doing all that there is to enjoy around this city without getting too hot. child's play, chuck e cheese, pump it up, splash pads.

i turned 24 6 days ago. i feel like i'm no longer in my early 20s and am now in the mids. ima big girl now :) i got my very 1st massage on my bday and it was a little bit of heaven. on my bday night, i went to my fav shopping place-town square, and ate at a new restaurant called nu sanctuary with a few of my mommy friends :) this place was super cool & sleek & i enjoyed myself. i got an inflatable husband as a gift & i blew him up at the table & he sat with us. i got giant edible gummy bears too and they are tasty. i also got a free stay at the silverton hotel last friday thanks to @guynsincity and also @jennotjenn who forwarded her win to me. awesome peeps. the kids & i relaxed, played, had fun swimming, & looking at the aquarium. it was a good time!

my summer school classes are coming to an end in 2 days. but i got to prepare myself for fall classes on the 23rd. it's going to be intense. it always is.

i actually have to write a paper, do 2 finals, 2 discussion posts, and a post test. so yeah, i should kinda do that before i get overwhelmed. haha.

heya palz.

i've been mia and that is major suckage. but it's been busy around here so get off mah back!! :D it's study week this week so major studying for finals. lots of last minute assignments to hand in. then finals the following week which i am completely ecstatic about. hardy-har-har. im excited to be done with this semester though! i'll be going back to summer school on june 6 so i'll get a lil break. i'm trying to plan for Ryland & i to go up to olympia washington to visit my mom & siblings. would be so totally amaaazing. i've also registered for the fall semester and i'm really excited for the classes i'm going to be taking. for the summer, biol 304 and 348, molecular genetics & human anatomy as well as 2 online elective classes that i don't really care about :D

then for this fall, chem 241 organic chemistry & lab, biol 426 plant anatomy & lab, biol 438 water management, and physics 152 & lab. going to be busy but so stoked for these bio classes!!

well i need to either get back to studying or get to bed! blog again soon.

so last weekend we had a photoshoot with sabrina's kindergarten teacher. we just love her! she is a great teacher, great photographer, and an all around awesome person. she has captured some really great pictures of the girls so i had to share! you can check her out at http://jenmillerphotography.com/ (although she is currently working on a new site!)

spring break is over. boohoo.

it was a nice relaxing time though. it didn't seem like it went by too fast or anything. it went by just as fast as it should of :D the time w/ my babies was well needed! we had lots of fun and kept busy!

 and then we headed to the park for an Easter outing with my lovely mommies & kiddos of LVTinyTots. were were also celebrating 5yrs of our playgroup!! so awesome.

march 28: sabrina had a build a bear party for her 6th at the mall with some friends. it was awesome & the kids had a blast making the cutest animals! we had some lunch at the mall before & then we all sat in the food court & did cuppies & prezzies :)

march 29: my big girl's 6th bday! crazy to think i became a mommy 6 yrs ago! we started w/ some play time at pump it up. what better way to start a morning than bouncing around? :D then i let her pick her bday lunch. at 1st she wanted to "sit at a restaurant and eat mac & cheese." then she changed her mind & wanted mcds. lol. so we got mcds & headed to our fav play place childsplay & played for 4 hrs! wow. we came home & the girls decorated a pink cake. she wanted all 20 candles on top. hah. we had a lil party w/ just us & the mother in law. sang & opened presents. it was nice :)

march 30: went to crystal palace for family night. 20 bucks for 4 skaters, rentals, a small pizza, & 4 sodas. was awesome, but VERY packed. the girls had lots of fun! we wore pink that day in honor of baby Cora's 4 month birthday too.

march 31: it was a suuuuper blustery day. wind bowing like crazy. daddy took the girls back to crystal palace for quite a few hours to skate more. i had a quiet day w/ ryland & we went out shopping for a little bit.

april fools: was a pretty lax day. we had a late afternoon playgroup at the park with our friends Ami, Dawn, & Francine & their kiddos. a perfect outing. Francine got a great shot of mullet boy which reminded me just how much i love mullets.

april 2: had a lovely morning mcds playdate with mommies Melinda & Francine. once again francine captured this cutie pie moment of our oh nine baby buddies Ryland & Mariah

april 3: we had a photoshoot with sabrina's kinder teacher at the park early in the am. she is also a photographer & likes to take pics of my cute kiddos for her website :) ha but cant wait to see them & hoping she emails some soon. she showed me some on her camera & they were CUTE. she also did a newborn shoot with ryland in january. we went straight to ballet after. relaxed most of the day but then spent the evening running around a couple of stores getting last min easter basket goodies! (claires 10 for $10 is perfect for little girls!!)

april 4: easter sunday, yo. bunny left us goodies. the girls were so excited & ravage through their baskets :D happy 1st easter ryland! then we drove out to pahrump cuz my mommy was out visiting at my grandmas & will be til next week!! we had a nice family dinner there & sabrina had a small fam bday party there since they couldn't be at her other 2. spoiled kid :)

april 5: well today was supposed to be back to school for 6yo & i. instead i took her to get some dental work done at the surgical center. much more fun right?...what a way to officially end our spring breaks :D

Poor Ryland. he was a lil fussy today while there even after i had him changed & fed. took him a while to get to sleep. then he did it again tonight so i had to run to the store to get some gas relief drops cuz i knew that was whats wrong. came back & he was asleep :( i think it might of been the easter ham & other sides i had at my grandmas cuz it didnt make me feel that good after too :(

Phew. so that was my week. going back to school tomorrow. missed it. not :D
